TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office 2 wrapped up calendar year 2022 through a Performance Review to evaluate the implementation of programs and projects completed for the year.

Cheyserr Perucho – Garcia, Planning Officer said that the Bureau has accomplished all its target which is attributed to the all-out support of implementing units in coordination with fisheries stakeholders.

Further, Regional Director Angel B. Encarnacion in his message said that the Bureau attained its targets by applying the three Cs specifically referring to collaboration, cooperation and complementation. The Bureau engaged in collaborative works with the local government units, state universities, private sectors and other partners in its project implementations.

Meantime, RD Encarnacion expressed his thanks to the Provincial Fishery Officers, project leaders and implementing units for their cooperation in the delivery of fisheries services to the fisherfolk.  

Representatives of each provincial fishery offices presented their accomplishments for the year. During the review, designation of a focal person/unit for the implementation of programs relative to Deputy Fish Wardens, formulation of policies on the deployment of payao projects, reconciliation of fisheries data with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), were among the issues tackled and resolved during the activity. 

Strategies on how to improve project implementation in crucial areas were also laid down to optimize use of government resources in the years to come.

The year-end activity was followed by a Thanksgiving Night to celebrate the Bureau’s success for the year. To cap the event, RD Encarnacion left everyone with this meaningful message “Choose love, be grateful and create happy memories”. ###
