To ensure the smooth implementation of fisheries programs and projects, representatives of 29 local government units in Cagayan province convened for the CY 2024 Performance Year-End Review and CY 2025 Target Setting on November 5, 2024, organized by the Provincial Fishery Office of Cagayan.  

Accomplishments and implementation of fisheries projects within the province were presented as well as identification of bottlenecks, alternative solutions were discussed in the forum. Likewise, the fisheries Bureau also laid down its shopping list on the appropriate programs and projects suitable in each municipality to be implemented next year.

In his talk, Atty. Ronaldo R. Libunao, Chief of the Fisheries Production and Support Services Division urged the LGUs to shift its focus in venturing into livelihood projects to encourage project-beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and at the same time increase their income through economically-viable fisheries livelihood projects.  

The participants were also briefed on the existing guidelines in the selection of project sites, identification of beneficiaries and other protocols set by the Bureau.

Among the attendees were Agricultural and Fisheries Technicians, Municipal Agriculturists, DA-BFAR 2 Technical Staff and representatives from project implementation units.
