Personnel from the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Region 2 delivered donations to the Agta community in Sta. Ana, Cagayan last January 8, 2025, as part of the bureau’s ongoing humanitarian efforts for areas severely impacted by recent typhoons.
The outreach was facilitated through Sister Minerva Caampued of the Ugnay-Buhay Franciscan Apostolic Sisters Pastoral Center. Donations included pre-loved clothing, shoes, slippers, and blankets generously contributed by staff from the DA-BFAR Central and Region 2 Offices.
The beneficiaries, particularly the Dumagat tribe of Sitio Dumasag, expressed their deep gratitude for the assistance, which provided much-needed relief to families still reeling from the aftermath of the calamities.
Sta. Ana, one of the municipalities hardest hit by recent typhoons, continues to recover from the devastating effects on its residents and communities. The bureau’s support underscores its commitment to addressing not just fisheries-related concerns but also the broader welfare of communities within the region.
