The Fisheries Management Area 1 – Management Board (FMA1-MB) held a special hybrid meeting on May 26, 2025, at the BFAR Regional Office in Tuguegarao City and via Zoom to establish a Technical Working Group (TWG).

The meeting included an overview of FMA1 and its Framework Plan, as well as a presentation of the draft TWG composition and functions for feedback.

The TWG will provide technical support on key areas such as fisheries law enforcement, livelihood, training, research, policy, governance, and climate resilience. It will aid FMA1-MB in policy discussions on harvest strategies and other measures to ensure sustainable benefits for coastal communities and the fishing industry. (A. Cristobal)
