SCIENCE CITY OF MUNOZ – Region 02’s pride, Mr. Arnel R. Santiago, owner of the A. R. Santiago Agri- Fishery Farm & Training Center, Inc., San Mateo, Isabela was hailed as the CY 2025 National Gawad Saka – Most Outstanding Fisherfolk (Aquaculture Category) and received a trophy and P250,000. 00 worth check as prize during the 50th Gawad Saka Parangal sa mga Natatanging Magsasaka at Mangingisda National Awarding Ceremony at the Farmer’s Multi-Purpose Shed, DA- PhilRice, graced by  His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,  Agriculture Secretary Francisco P.  Tiu Laurel, Jr. and other key officials on June 30, 2025.

Mr. Santiago received the same national award in 1996. He expanded his operation and sustained his excellent services to his clients and to the aquaculture sector, worthy of national recognition.

The Gawad Saka search recognizes individuals and institutions whose dedication, innovation, and leadership have significantly contributed to the growth of Philippine agriculture and fisheries. Selected from the 101 national finalists previously recognized in May, the 43 national awardees represent various categories and sectors—including crops, livestock, fisheries, youth, agri-entrepreneurship, researcher, and extension—whose work has transformed communities and strengthened food systems from the ground up.
