Tuguegarao City, Cagayan — Ahensyang Aksyon Agad! In commemoration of the BFAR 78th years of public service for the sustainable development of the Philippine fisheries sector, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office 2 (DA-BFAR 2) celebrated its founding anniversary on July 7, 2025, with a meaningful celebration held at the MIS Hall, BFAR Compound, Tuguegarao City.

The event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration led by Rev. Fr. Tio Rino Gauring, establishing a reflective and grateful atmosphere to honor the agency’s decades of service in the fisheries and aquatic resources sector.

Highlighting the celebration was the presence of Mr. Arnel Santiago, a Gawad Saka National Winner, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau for its unwavering support throughout his journey.

Regional Director Angel B. Encarnacion, emphasized the Bureau’s continuing commitment to public service and sustainable fisheries development and affirming the theme for this year Ahensyang Aksyon Agad.

As part of the festivities, DA-BFAR 2 also honored its employees who have rendered years of loyal and dedicated service. Certificates and medals were awarded as tokens of appreciation, acknowledging the hard work and passion of the Bureau’s workforce.

The event concluded with inspiring closing remarks from Dr. Emma Ballad, who reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to swift and effective public service. “Sa kabila ng mga hamon, mananatili tayong tapat sa ating layunin—isang Ahensyang Aksyon Agad, na laging handang tumugon sa pangangailangan ng bayan.” Her message called upon all employees to remain proactive, responsive, and committed to making meaningful impacts in the communities they serve.

This year’s celebration served not only as a commemoration of BFAR 2’s enduring legacy but also as an inspiration to its personnel and stakeholders to continue advancing the fisheries sector in the Region.
