Quezon City – The DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Region 2 (DA-BFAR 2) participated in the official launching of the Philippine Salt Industry Development Plan (PSIDP) 2025–2040 held on July 8, 2025 in Quezon City. The event marks a significant milestone in revitalizing the country’s salt industry through strategic collaboration, sustainable practices, and inclusive growth.
The national launch was attended by key stakeholders including representatives from DA-BFAR Central and Regional Offices, National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Academic and Research Institutions and the private sector, all of whom pledged their support in transforming the Philippine salt industry into a globally competitive and self-sustaining sector.
DA-BFAR Region 2 Regional Director Dr. Angel Encarnacion expressed the region’s full support for the initiative as he signed in the pledge of commitment.
The PSIDP 2025–2040 outlines strategies to modernize salt production, reduce import dependency, and unlock the economic potential of salt-producing communities across the country.
