The DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources- Region 02 provides extension support, education, and training services. This initiative empowers and equips fisherfolk with the knowledge, skills, and resources to improve their productivity, increase their income, and ensure sustainable practices. This initiative includes training in aquaculture like Fish Cage Construction, Grow-out Culture and Management of Freshwater Species (Tilapia, Ulang, and Hito), and Tilapia Hatchery Management; in post-harvest like Smoked fish processing, Value adding, Salt making using HDPE, Fish bottling, Fish drying, and Fish Trading; under capture fisheries like Fishing gear design, Construction, and Management and under regulatory like orientation on RA 10654, Deputy Fish Warder and Fish Examiner. In addition, the office also conducts Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities and distributes IEC materials relating to fisheries.
